The incident happened just after 2pm when, according to eyewitnesses, the woman who was crossing Stockwell Street collided with the vehicle and fell.
Shocked onlookers told the Clyde Insider that the pedestrian seemed to be trapped under the bus.
One passer-by said: “I saw a woman cross the street and then a bus was coming. She was hit by the bus and fell on the street. Now she is stuck under the bus.”
All three emergency services were called to the scene with fire fighters freeing the woman just before 3pm. She was then rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in the south of the city.

Surrounding roads such as Glassford Street and High Street were also closed before re-opening at around 3.30pm.
Stockwell Street remained shut for several hours as investigations were carried out.
Police at the scene confirmed the woman was seriously injured but did not reveal her condition or injury details. No one travelling on the bus was hurt.
