No major surprises in the winners, current world cup winners France are undoubtedly the favourites that is why both Billy and Michael had decided to pick them. Behind France there are many teams who could win it. For Example, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands and England are among people’s favourites.
Majority of us have picked Scotland as our wildcard team. Maybe a bit of bias toward our national team but there is a real hope around the country after the great success of our first qualification in 23 years.
The player of the tournament is always going to be a hotly debated argument. You could be the top goal scorer and then be given the best player for the number of goals you banged in like Griezmann in 2016 the euros who won both awards with 6 goals in the tournament. Normally the best player of the tournament is going to be in form heading into the event that is why I believe all 5 picks have a chance at the award.
For top goalscorer all 5 of us
have picked the top goalscorer in 3 out of the top 4 leagues except Romelu Lukaku who finished second in the Italian league. Sometimes this award is done to the opposition on the day, a bit of luck goes in to winning this award in such a short tournament.
A breakout star is someone who bursts onto the sign and becomes a household name around Europe. This tournament is a perfect opportunity for many youngsters to establish themselves as superstars. That is why I believe Jordan Larsson will follow in his Dad’s footsteps Henrik and explode onto the scene during and after the competition.
