A couple months ago, I was very fortunate to get to go on a college trip to visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The European Parliament in Strasbourg is the world’s largest transnational
parliament. I got the chance to speak with members of the European Parliament (MEPs) on
topics such as Brexit, the Istanbul Convention, border control, the environment and many
others.
The city of Strasbourg in France is the official seat of the European Parliament. The MEPs meet
in Strasbourg twelve times a year for a session, which usually takes around four days. The
majority of work still takes place in Brussels.
Scotland voted to remain part of the EU back in 2016. Scottish Ministers believe that remaining
part of the EU would still be best for our country. The European Parliament was very welcoming
to us and appreciated our concerns and hopes for our countries’ bond with them in the future.

Here is a brief video showing in detail what I got up to in Strasbourg.
