It’s been 50 years since Partick Thistle shocked the world by thrashing Celtic 4-1 in the Scottish League Cup final.

The Jags blew the Hoops away on the 23rd October 1971 with four goals in the first half.

It took until the 70th minute for the Parkhead men to grab a consolation through Kenny Dalglish.

Just over four years before the momentous day, Celtic had beat Inter Milan in the European Cup final.

This month, Thistle will be running number of projects to remember the last time they won a major cup competition.

In this video, our reporter, Robbie Boyd speaks to his Dad who was at the game as well as striker Jimmy Bone who scored Thistle’s fourth goal that day.
