Christmas is such a magical time of year for many people all over Scotland. Snow covering the surrounding areas makes even the most normal streets look like a postcard, families travelling home to spend the festive season with their loved ones, and presents wrapped beautifully under the Christmas tree all ready for the big day.
As beautiful as the snow may be, it can also be a nightmare for commuters, and when paired with the current strikes by the likes of RMT, many people are either on strike or are unable to get to work.
Does this sound familiar? Are you bored waiting to be able to go back to work? Do you want to sit down with a mince pie and hot chocolate and binge something good on Netflix? If so you’re in the right place. Here are our suggestions of some must-watch series:
Wednesday

One of the hottest Netflix series right now. Wednesday follows the story of Wednesday Addams (from the movie The Addams Family) as she navigates her way through school at Nevermore Academy. The series is rated 12+ on Netflix and is a perfect series to watch for a family with teenage children.
Stranger Things

A supernatural thriller that will keep your eyes glued to the screen. It is hard to say anything about this show without giving too much away, but this Duffer Brothers creation is a must-watch for thriller, horror, and sci-fi fans. The series is rated 15+ and is not one for people who suffer with nightmares.
Peaky Blinders

A TV series based on the real-life Peaky Blinder gang that operated in Birmingham in 1919. Cillian Murphy stars as gang leader Tommy Shelby in this crime-drama. Rated 18+ this may not be a family-friendly series, but it is a must-watch for those old enough.
Breaking Bad

We are almost certain this won’t have been the first time you’ve heard of this Netflix Series, but it is one not everyone has seen yet. The series (starring Bryan Cranston as Walter White) is about a science teacher with terminal lung cancer who enlists the help of a former student as he moves into a very different area of work. Rated 18+ this is not a family-friendly series, but is perfect for those who like a crime-drama.
The Crown

This award-winning series gives an inside look into the British Royal Family during the reign of the late Queen Elizabeth II. This British drama covers many of the big moments that happened within the Royal Family during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. The Crown is rated 15+ and so may not be a family-friendly series, but it is a must-watch for anyone interested in the monarchy.
