The world famous Monte Carlo car rally will begin in Clydebank on Wednesday, January 30 next year. The event will be showcasing classic cars and will mark the second time the Scottish town has hosted the prestigious event.
The event will attract thousands of visitors to the area with West Dunbartonshire Councillor Baillie Denis Agnew saying: “it is a real privilege to welcome the Monte Carlo Classic car rally back to Clydebank.
“The event is famous around the world and should hopefully bring a significant economic benefit to the area.”
The 1,500 mile race will begin at Clydebank and finish off at Monaco, in the South of France. Douglas Anderson, the UK co-ordinator for the event is hoping that the event will attract record numbers of entries and crowds. The event will take place over eight days and will take place on public open roads.
